Growing older is a privilege as well as a natural process. We want to age gracefully and healthily as we age because modern life could speed up the aging process. An excellent place to start is with our diet. We created a list of the best foods for preventing aging that are high in antioxidants and increase collagen. While we cannot stop the passage of time, we can fuel our bodies with these nutrients in order to promote healthy aging from the inside out.
Here is a list of some anti-inflammatory foods:
Kale – Kale has many beneficial vitamins and minerals. It has vitamin A & K, folate (a type of vitamin B that is great for the brain!), high in fiber, zinc, potassium, phosphorus, and calcium.
Avocado – Avocados are a great source of vitamin K,C, B6, &E, potassium, magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids.
Broccoli– Broccoli has a great source of antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins. Broccoli is known to help prevent the development of cancer by its rich properties of antioxidants and minerals. It has both vitamin C & K that help improve the health of bones.
Sprouts– Sprouts are known to be an excellent source of magnesium, folate, potassium, beta-carotene, and calcium.
Spinach– Spinach has an excellent source of minerals and vitamins. The vitamins it contains are vitamins A, C & K1. The beneficial minerals it contains are iron, calcium, and folic acid.
All berries– Every type of berry provides a healthy amount of antioxidants, vitamins, and also helps fight with inflammation. Berries are known to have vitamin C & K, potassium, magnesium, probiotics, and fiber.
Matcha– Matcha is known to be high in antioxidants. Some of the antioxidants that matcha has is known to help reduce cell damage. It also helps enhance the functionality of the brain, improves your memory, reaction time, and attention.
Walnuts– Walnuts provide a healthy amount of antioxidants, fats, vitamins, minerals, and fibers.
Almonds– Almonds offer very important nutrients that our bodies need. It offers fiber, vitamins, and magnesium. The types of vitamins that almonds offer are vitamins E and B2.
Sweet potatoes– Sweet Potatoes offer vitamins A, B6, and C, potassium, magnesium, fiber, and antioxidants.
Salmon– Salmon is a great source of vitamin A, B12 and D. It is also a great source of proteins and has many antioxidant benefits.
